FW Rep. Women Dictionary Project

A popular program that other Republican women’s clubs participate in nationwide, the Dictionary Project is one of Fort Worth Republican Women’s annual projects. The goal of this program is to assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary.

The dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. Educators see third grade as the dividing line between learning to read and reading to learn, so we select schools with a demonstrated need for this assistance and provide dictionaries each year to the children in their third-grade classes.

In 2015, Fort Worth Republican Women presented dictionaries to 260 students at three local schools – West Handley Elementary School, George C. Clarke Elementary School and Como Elementary School.
